The lower part of the property dates back to circa 1724 and was formerly named Haworth Hall, when it was part of the adjoining dwelling now known as Old Fold Hall which is itself believed to be the oldest habitable dwelling in Haworth Village.
Fern House is only a moments stroll to Haworth's historic cobbled Main Street with its array of pubs, restaurants, gift shops, galleries and tea rooms. Just off Main Street is Haworth Church and the Old (Bronte) Parsonage. The Worth Valley Steam railway at Haworth station can also be easily accessed by foot. Haworth is an ideal base for exploring Bronte Country and surrounding places of interest in Yorkshire such as; Salt's Mill (recently awarded World Heritage status) at Saltaire Village featuring the permanent David Hockney exhibition, the market town of Skipton 'Gateway to the Dales' with its famous castle, the ancient City of York with its famous Minster and National Railway Museum, the Royal Armouries at Leeds, with it’s fabulous shops including Harvey Nichols.
