Fern House Haworth a large self catering holiday home sleeping 8 in the Heart of Bronte Country

At first glance, Fern House is an unassuming stone built mid-terraced property in the heart of the historic village of Haworth, but once inside, this is a completely different matter. Fern House has undergone a sympathetic restoration retaining many original features to provide especially comfortable self catering accommodation sleeping 8, and is furnished and decorated to an exceptionally high standard.

The house is light and spacious and the furniture has been tastefully selected to be in keeping with the age and feel of the property and features; antique brass & cast iron beds with top quality linen, antique dining table & chairs, leather chesterfields whilst providing stylish fully tiled bathrooms and a spacious exeptionally well equipped contemporary designer kitchen for your convenience. The lower part of the property dates back to circa 1724 and was formerly named Haworth Hall, when it was part of the adjoining dwelling now known as Old Fold Hall which is itself believed to be the oldest habitable dwelling in Haworth Village.

Fern House is only a moments stroll to Haworth's historic cobbled Main Street with its array of pubs, restaurants, gift shops, galleries and tea rooms. Just off Main Street is Haworth Church and the Old (Bronte) Parsonage. The Bronte Parsonage is where Charlotte Bronte, Emily Bronte and Anne Bronte wrote the novel Jane Eyre. The Worth Valley Steam railway at Haworth station can also be easily accessed by foot. Haworth is an ideal base for exploring Bronte Country and surrounding places of interest in Yorkshire such as; Salt's Mill (recently awarded World Heritage status) at Saltaire Village featuring the permanent David Hockney exhibition, the market town of Skipton 'Gateway to the Dales' with its famous castle, the ancient City of York with its famous Minster and National Railway Museum, the Royal Armouries at Leeds, with it’s fabulous shops including Harvey Nichols.

Testimonial

Our stay was wonderful. Your house does you credit it was clean and well serviced – we had everything we needed – and could not be better located. Dinner was delicious and generous – but we managed to scoff the lot! Haworth was a little gem - we did the parsonage and the railway on Saturday followed by dinner at the Stirrup and then walked to the moors on Sunday. Everyone we encountered was smiling and friendly (a great Yorkshire welcome).

The personal touches you made like having milk, biscuits, tea, coffee and fruit were very much appreciated and your house instantly felt like a home.

At Fern House we could all sit round the kitchen table lingering over breakfast or in the lounge playing board games and just relax and enjoy each other’s company – it made it a pleasure just to stay in.
